Lex Veldhuis
Lex Veldhuis, more commonly known by his screen name RaSZi, is from the small town of Vlissingen in Hollannd, and he is currently part of the PokerStars team. He got his start in online gaming by playing Starcraft, a game that shares many of the same secrets to success with poker. Lex Veldhuis was convinced to try online poker after his friend Bertrand Grospellier (Elky) lent him ten dollars in PokerStars cash to get started.
Veldhuis is a natural born poker player, and he quickly rose through the ranks until he was a celebrity. He began his PokerStars run with $300 in his account, and over the course of two days, he built it up to over $100,000 by playing $25-$50 no-limit hold 'em games. He has been on top of the PokerStars leaderboard twice, and is undoubtedly one of the most successful players in the game. Since October 2008, he has played over one million hands of poker online.
Veldhuis has a very good live tournament resume, as well. He has won over $400,000 in live tournaments, and has had seven cash finishes in the World Series of Poker. His first cash came in the 2007 World Championship Pot Limit Hold 'Em event, where he had a 35th place finish and won just over $14,000. His best-ever cash finish came in 2009, when he placed seventh and won $277,939 in the No-Limit Holdem 40th anniversary event.
Lex Veldhuis has two European Poker Tour cash finishes on his resume; for a total of over $21,000 in prize funds. He has countless other small wins as well. Currently, Veldhuis divides his time between the Netherlands and Las Vegas, and plays higher-stakes cash games and live events. He is an avid Twitter user; you can find his page at "Lex Veldhuis Twitter".
