Jeff Lisandro
Jeff Lisandro was born in Australia, but now divides his time between Santa Barbara, Las Vegas, and Italy. Lisandro is known as one of the best players in the world, and he lived up to that reputation by winning all three seven-card stud events at the 2009 World Series of Poker. He won $125,000 in the $1500 event, $431,000 in the 8 or Better, and $188,000 in the Razz event. For that triple feat, Lisandro won the 2009 Player of the Year Award.
Jeff 'The Iceman' Lisandro has never had such a good year as he did in 2009, but he's always been a talented player; he'd made eight other WSOP tables before his banner year. He finished 17th in the WSOP Main Event in 2006, and earned his first bracelet in 2007. He beat Nick Frangos and Daniel Negreanu on the way to that title, and he also beat Phil Ivey in a heads-up match in a WSOP event in Lake Tahoe.
Jeff has done very well away from the WSOP as well. Back in 2006, he made the final table at the EPT Barcelona Open, with a sixth-place, $146,000 finish. A year after that, he won sixth place at the EPT Paris event. Last year, he earned second place at the 2010 Aussie Millions HORSE event, making his tournament total just over $2.6 million.
