Kristy Gazes

Kristy Gazes was born in California on October 28, 1967. Like many other LA natives, she entered the entertainment industry, but she got started on gambling at 21 when she began going to the Commerce Casino with friends to play Pai Gow poker. During these casino trips, the game of seven-card stud caught her attention; soon, she was playing the game several nights per week.

For the decade after that, Kristy Gazes entered all of the mixed-cash games that she could find. When the action there slacked up, she switched over to the no-limit hold 'em tourneys and also did some online play. Back in 2003, she won the World Championship of Online Poker Omaha Hi-Lo event, her first big success. In 2005, she won the Full Tilt Championship at Vegas' Wynn Hotel, beating pros like Clonie Gowen, Ted Forrest, and Daniel Negreanu.

2007 was Kristy Gazes' best year yet. She earned two final tables in the Aussie Millions; one of those was the main event, and her cash winnings totaled over $230,000. In August of that year, Gazes won the Ladies' Night Out event for $25,000. That win put her career total at over $950,000, but despite her many successes, she remains a part-time player.

As of late, Gazes has dabbled in the stock market, both overseas and in America. She only plays in a select few tournaments each month, but she is still a sponsored pro on Full Tilt Poker. She turns to yoga and meditation to reduce her stress and practices each every day.
