Annette Obrestad

Annette Obrestad's poker career began when she was barely old enough to drive. Her mother wouldn't let her use her credit card to make a deposit at a poker website, so she entered and won a freeroll tournament. She started her online bankroll with her $9 winnings, and she went on to turn that meager sum into more than a million dollars.

She's known mostly for her skill in tournaments, having taken down many online opponents. To prove her skill, once she played a 180-player sit-n-go, covering her screen the entire time. She wasn't old enough to play in a live tournament until 2007, and she started rather slowly. She won the WSOP Europe Main Event, impressing many of the veterans. She's the youngest winner, and the first woman to ever win a WSOP main event.

After that victory, she became famous and won an endorsement deal with Betfair. She's become a regular on the poker circuit, making appearances at WPT, EPT, and PartyPoker league events.

Annette Obrestad won't even be able to play in a casino until she's 21, so the poker world doesn't know just how good she will be. She's won praise from Annie Duke, who said she never loses her composure and that she has "amazing" instincts. Obrestad has said that she'll stick to tournament play, with the exception of cash Pot Limit Omaha games.

At just 20 years old, Annette 'Annette_15' Obrestad has already had the kind of poker success that most of us only dream of. She's at the top of the women's money list, and set a record that may never be beaten. When she comes of age, she will be able to show the poker world just how good she is.
